Padovano and Honorable Menelaos W. Toskos for a fascinating virtual tour through the history of the Bergen County Courthouse and intriguing insights into its justice system. Additionally, the Justices will cover the early history of the Bergen County Courts, including when Oakland (then known as the Ponds / Yawpough) served as the center of Bergen County justice during the American Revolution. The Bergen County Courthouse built between 1910 and 1912, is an architectural and historical gem. A stunning example of Beaux-Arts architecture, it features imposing Corinthian columns, intricate stonework, and a majestic dome topped. The Courthouse is one of Bergen County’ most recognizable landmarks. Inside, the courthouse is adorned with historic murals and majestic architectural details depicting justice, law, and civic duty
